What is a work permit?

Process to get Work Visa

Getting a work permit and resident visa needs a proper process which is as follow:

  • The very first step is to get approval from the ministry of labor. For this, the employer has to apply on behalf of its employees.
  • After getting approval, then your employer will get an entry permit for you. This is valid for only two months from the date of approval.
  • After entering Dubai, you can apply for a labor card. It will be valid for two years.
  • Then you have to go to the Emirates Id service center to get the process complete.
  • Then the employer can apply to the immigration authorities for a residence visa. Then you have to go for a medical test.
  • After the medical test, you have to go to the Department of Naturalization and Residency Dubai (DNRD) with documents and then your passport will be stamped.

After getting a resident visa and work permit you will be able to work and stay in Dubai. These visas are valid for two years. After that, you can again apply for the same visas through your employer.
